Summary

Propofol is an intravenous anaesthetic agent based on lipid emulsion without antimicrobial additive with high risk of microbial growth. Non-compliance with the recommended SPC (Summary of Product Characteristics) administration was associated with serious infectious complications. The aim of the article is to analyze the ethical and legal problems that can be associated with incorrect practice of using propofol.
