Metastatic Affection of the Iridial Tissue in Primary Carcinoma of the Lungs
Metastatické postižení duhovkovétkáně při primárním karcinomu plic
Autoři popisují zcela ojedinělý případ metastatického postižení duhovkové tkáněu 69leté pacientky léčené od r. 2000 pro primární karcinom plic. Před stanovenímoftalmologické diagnózy udávala nemocná 14 dnů trvající bolestivost a zarudnutípravého oka. Při vyšetření byla nalezena rozsáhlá proliferační tkáň v oblastitemporální části pravé duhovky a sekundárně přítomný bolestivý glaukom. Léčbas ohledem na anamnézu a celkový stav nemocné spočívala v enukleaci postiženéhobulbu. Histologické vyšetření následně potvrdilo přítomnost metastázy malobuněčnéhovřetenobuněčného karcinomu plic do duhovky s rozsevem v předníkomoře oka a na endotelu rohovky.

The authors describe a quite unique case of metastatic affection of the iridialtissue in a 69-year-old female patient treated from 2000 for primary lung cancer.Before assessment of the ophthalmological diagnosis the patient reported painand redness of the right eye persisting for two weeks. On examination extensiveproliferating tissue in the area of the temporal part of the right iris was found andsecondarily a painful glaucoma. Treatment with regard to the case-history andgeneral condition of the patient involved enucleation of the affected eye. Histologicalexamination confirmed subsequently the presence of ametastasis of a smallcell spindle-shaped lung cancer into the iris with dissemination in the anteriorchamber and corneal endothelium.
