Summary

The article summarises new views of metabolic syndrome in pediatrics – hypertension, altered glucose metabolism, dyslipidemia, abdominal obesity, which can lead to risk of cardivascuklar diseases in adults. The definition of this syndrome in pediatrics is difficult, there is nonuniform classification.
