Summary

There are many factors that influence the quality of diagnostic imaging results. Human factors, such as patient cooperation and motivation play a large role, especially in paediatrics. EasyMRI, a project running at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the Motol University Hospital, aims to address these factors by improving patient education and engagement. For paediatric patients, the introduction of a game element spanning the entire duration of the examination has met with particular success. The team's efforts have not only resulted in measurable improvement of final quality of the examination outcome. At the same time, patients are calmer throughout the examination, which is also allowing for more children to undergo the scanning without general anesthesia.
