Summary

The development of lower-urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is multifactorial with a significant contribution by tissue ischemia. There is a proven connection between LUTS, BPH and metabolic syndrome (METS). Testosteron replacement therapy (TRT) leads to improvement in tissue ischemia by decreasing moderately significant LUTS and symptoms of chronic prostatitis.
