Does it Make Sense to Speak about Conscience Today?
Má ještě dnes smysl mluvito svědomí?
Úvaha se věnuje obsahu tohoto pojmu a jeho historii a následujícím otázkám:
Je svědomískutečně „neomylné“? Má každý - na základě „svého svědomí“ - i „svou pravdu“? Lze dojít v našípluralistické společnosti ke konsenzu v etických problémech? Je ve vztahu lékaře a nemocnéhonutné respektovat autonomii, je-li v rozporu se svědomím a s integritou osoby (ať lékaře, nebonemocného)?

The article is devoted to the term conscience, to the history of this term and to the followingquestions: Is the conscience really infallible? Has everybody his own truth - according to hisown conscience? It is possible in our pluralistic society to find consensus in ethical matters? Itis - within the physician-patient relationship necessary to respect autonomy of the other evenif it is not in consent to the conscience and to the integrity of person?
