Autoři v úvodu přehledového článku shrnují farmakologický profil atypického neuroleptikaolanzapinu. Hlavní indikací léku je terapie schizofrenních psychóz. V současné psychiatrickéliteratuře se stále častěji objevují studie zabývající se použitím olanzapinu v léčbě poruch nálady(depresivní porucha, bipolární porucha). Autoři rekapitulují dosavadní psychiatrickou litera-turu v této oblasti. Dvojitě slepé studie předběžně svědčí pro účinnost olanzapinu v akutní léčbědepresivní poruchy a manické epizody v rámci bipolární afektivní poruchy.

Overview

In the introduction of their review the authors summarize the pharmacological profile of anatypical neuroleptic preparation olanzapine. The main indication of the drug is treatment ofschizophrenic psychoses. In the contemporary literature with increasing frequency studies areencountered dealing with the use of olanzapine in the treatment of impaired mood (depressivedisorder, bipolar disorder). The authors recapitulate the psychiatric literature on the subjectpublished hitherto. Double blind studies provide preliminary evidence of the effectiveness ofolanzapine in the acute treatment of a depressive disorder and manic episode in the frameworkof a bipolar affective disorder.
