Adverse effects of antipsychotic drugs: new risks and how to identify them
Nežádoucí účinky antipsychotik – nová rizika a jak je rozpoznat
Z klinického hlediska je třeba u nemocných léčených antipsychotiky monitorovat metabolické, kardiovaskulární, neurologické a endokrinní poruchy. Účinné a přitom úsporné monitorování pacientů stejně jako diferenciální indikace vyžadují spolupráci psychiatra s praktickými lékaři, diabetology a kardiology. Pravidelné sledování tělesného zdraví nemocných se schizofrenií s velkou pravděpodobností zlepšuje snášenlivost antipsychotické medikace, spolupráci pacientů a snižuje jejich morbiditu a mortalitu. Zejména praktičtí lékaři mohou při sledování bezpečnosti a léčbě tělesných komorbidit hrát významnou roli.

Overview
There is a clinical need to monitor antipsychotic-treated patients for metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological and endocrine disturbances and to maintain collaboration with primary care physicians, diabetologists, and cardiologists to facilitate appropriate medical care for these patients. The monitoring of physical health of patients with schizophrenia increases safety and tolerability of antipsychotics treatment and decreasesmorbidity and mortality. Particularly general practitioners play an important part in monitoring of adverse events and treatment of physical comorbidities.
