After-Effects of the Cytostatic Therapy in Cardiology
KARDIOLOGICKÉ NÁSLEDKY CYTOSTATICKEJ LIEČBY
Zvyšujúci sa počet vyliečených onkologických pacientov si vyžaduje intenzívnu pozornosť zameranú na dlhodobékardiologické komplikácie po cytostatickej liečbe. Kardiotoxicita súvisí predovšetkým s antracyklínovou liečbou.Neskoré zlyhanie srdca a/alebo komorové arytmie môžu vznikať na podklade subklinických abnormalít, ktoré boliantracyklínmi indukované v čase liečby. Pravidelným dlhodobým monitorovaním stavu myokardu je možné identi-fikovať vyliečených onkologických pacientov s progresívnym charakterom týchto abnormalít a teda s vyšším stup-ňom rizikom fatálnych komplikácií.

As more and more oncologic patients are being cured from cancer, problems with long-term c ytostatic cardiologiccomplications have triggered and intensive investigation. Cardiotoxicity becomes a specific problem for those whosurvived cancer therapy with anthracycline. Heart failure or ventricular arrhythmias may develop from subclinicalmyocardial alterations induced by anthracycline therapy. Long-lasting monitoring of cardiac status may help toidentify those patients, whose abnormalities have progressive character and who are at risk of fatal complications
