Summary
The lower trapezius island musculocutaneous flap is a reliable, pliable and thin flap with long arc of rotation to reach any defect in the head and neck. Author presents his first experience with this flap in two case reports. He deals with vascular anatomy and provides guidelines for flap harvest. The reasons for flap failure are explained. Disadvantages and limits of the flap use are also discussed.
Key words:
musculocutaneous flap, trapezius muscle.
