Summary

Congenital cholesteatoma can occur in any temporal bone. A specific position concerns a rare cholesteatoma of eardrum membrane. The authors discuss the etiology and possible pathologic mechanism of the origin of the disease as well as various manifestations of the changes of eardrum membrane associated with this diagnosis.
