Summary
Cogan’s syndrome is a rare systemic autoimmune vasculitis affecting mostly young adults. This case report describes a young female patient with typical symptoms of interstitial keratitis and vertigo with sudden sensorineural hearing loss resembling Ménièr’s disease. The role of otoneurological and audiometry examinations is discussed in relationship with the course of systemic treatment in cooperation with a rheumatologist. The aim of this article is to raise awareness of Cogan’s syndrome in order to include it to the differential diagnosis of paroxysmal vertigo with sudden sensorineural hearing loss.
