Summary

In many studies, it was repeatedly shown that there is significant relation between higher intensity and frequency of physical activity and lower incidence and better prognosis of the most common cancers. It can therefore be reasonably assumed that physical activity reduces the incidence and severity of these diseases, although the explanation of this effect is still rather hypothetical. The adverse effects of physical hypoactivity and particularly the damaging effects of sedentary lifestyle have been also satisfactorily demonstrated. That is why it is important to advise and remind patients about the positives of regular physical activity, as well as about the other aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
