Autorky ve svém sdělení seznamují čtenáře s existencí, posláním a typologií veřejných informačních služeb ve zdravotnictví. Zdravotnické knihovny v ČR zpřístupňují domácí i světovou produkci vědeckých lékařských informací a napomáhají je získávat odborné veřejnosti i s ohledem na finanční a technologické bariéry.
