Summary

The regular course for cell cryoconservation is very important for further condition of cells after thawing. The obtaining of vital cells and in maximum rate is notable especially for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. On Hematopoietic Cell Department of Tissue Bank in University Hospital Brno a new method of cell preparing for cryoconservation using special designed gel casing for bags was established. Pre-cooling of these casings minimizes the heat-damage of the cells during their mixture with cryoprotective solution which contains dimethylsulfoxid (DMSO). The cord blood obtained from healthy volunteers was used as a material in this experiment. In following article the authors describe the results of comparative study, in which comparing of traditional method of cell preparation using iced water bath and new approach with pre-cooled gel casing was performed.
