Role and Importance of Civil Society Organisations in the Support of Cancer Screening

Summary

Promotion of cancer screening programmes and provision of correct and comprehensive information to the general public are essential for achieving sufficient attendance at the program­mes and fulfilling their long‑term function. Various NGOs and CSOs play a very important role in this field. The article provides an overview of the most visible activities and campaigns that spread information about cancer prevention and preventive examinations in the Czech Republic.
