Summary

Lip tumors represent common type of neoplasia on the head and neck region. Squamous cell carcinoma of the lower lip is the most frequent tumor. It usually appears in elderly but recently it becomes more frequent in younger age groups. The prognosis is quite good, namely due to early diagnosis as the tumor is visible and the patients are seeking medical care. Early recognition and referral to specialist is necessary. This article reviews the recent literature and brings author´s experience and practical recommendation in the treatment of this disease.
