Summary
It is always difficult to successfully handle all work related issues when dealing with physical and psychical difficulties, especially when these circumstances affect person who was healthy, strong and relatively successful up until now. Inner tensions or experiencing negative emotions can easily overwhelm a person when such person is forced to search for and accept less interesting or worse paying job, or ultimately to stop working altogether and seek to obtain disability pension. Such process requires not only to negotiate bureaucratic formalities, but to accept changes to own social status, own dependency on social system and to seek other means of spending free time. On the other hand, request for disability pension can come from person which is objectively capable of working and thus ineligible for disability pension, but which seeks the pension as (seemingly) more attractive solution of obtaining their living. Case report describes personal story of 3rd grade disability pension applicant, who did undergo complex psychological examination, results of which caused dubiousness of the amount of psychological problems he was suffering from and their possible aggravation. The psychological examination results for doctor who conducts medical opinion must be unambiguous and reliable even in this case, considering his final statement will have significant impact on further life of the patient.
Keywords:
disability pension – psychological examination – depression – anxiety – aggravation
