Syndrom mnohočetné chemické senzitivity

Syndrom mnohočetné chemické senzitivity je charakterizován příznaky postižení různých orgánových systémů (ústřední nervovýsystém, dýchací cesty, trávicí ústrojí, močové ústrojí, pohybové ústrojí, kůže), které se objevují při menší koncentraci látekv životním prostředí, než je koncentrace, která podle platných předpisů může vyvolat nežádoucí účinky a vést ke zhoršení zdravotního stavu. Jako vyvolávající agens se uplatňují chemické látky o různé struktuře a mechanismu účinku. V etiopatogenezi se uvažujeo psychogenních, imunologických, respiračních a čichově limbických mechanismech. V léčbě jsou nejúspěšnější kognitivní a behaviorální intervence a relaxační techniky, popř. v kombinaci s antidepresivy nebo anxiolytiky.

Overview

The syndrome of multiple chemical sensitivity is characterized by symptoms affecting various organ systems (central nervoussystem, respiratory pathways, digestive system, urinary system, locomotor system, skin) which develop in case of a lower concen-tration of substances in the environment than is the concentration which according to valid instructions can cause undesirableeffects and lead to deterioration of the health status. The causal agent are chemical substances of different structure and mecha-nism of action. In the etiopathogenesis psychogenic, immunological, respiratory, olfactory limbic mechanisms may be involved. Intreatment cognitive and behavioural interventions and relaxation techniques are most successful, possibly in combination withantidepressants or anxiolytics.
