Summary
The authors present a case of occupational lung damage caused by exposure to aluminum containing dust. The first detected objective pathological finding was a picture of dispersed micronodules on thr chest X-ray. The final diagnosis of pulmonary aluminosis was not established until three years later by gradual exclusion of other interstitial pulmonary disease. Histological examination with element analysis of the lung tissue played a crutial diagnostic role. The positive occupational history was verified by hygiene assessment and the condition was then acknowledge as an occupational disease.
