Summary

The evaluation of recognition of speech can be provided by a presenting of testing material in a sentence form with presence of competitive noise. We developed the new test of sentence intelligibility in noise in Czech language. This article demonstrates the results of the influence of babble noise on the sentence intelligibility with listeners with hearing impairment: a) patients without hearing aid, b) patients with one hearing aid and c) patients with bilateral compensation. The patients are divided by hearing impairment: normal hearing, mild, moderate and severe hearing impairment. This report shows our preliminary results. Possibility of hearing evaluation widened thru development of the speech test in worse acoustic conditions.

Key words:
sentence intelligibility in babble noise, patients with hearing disorders.
