Summary
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is related with higher age and poses a serious threat to the patient´s life. Aneurysms larger than 5.5 cm in diameter are indicated for open or endovascular repair. Giant aneurysms are rarely encountered due to a high risk of rupture. We present a case report of such a giang aneurysm and its open repair.
Key words:
abnominal aortic aneurysm – iliac artery aneurysm – open repair – complications
