Summary
INTRODUCTION:
Isolated duodenal injuries are rare occured infrequently. The aim of this case report is to show how tricky the diagnostics of these injuries can be.
CASE REPORT:
In this case report we documented clinical signs and results of investigations in a patient with isolated duodenal rupture with atypical history.
DISCUSSION:
Duodenal injuries are severe injuries. They are often associated with injuries of other intraperitoneal and/or retroperitoneal organs. Diagnosis is often delayed because of rare occurence and non-specific physical findings. Diagnostic delay results in increased morbidity and mortality.
CONCLUSION:
The key aspect is to diagnose these injuries as soon as possible.
Key words:
Isolated duodenal injury, diagnosis, therapeutics.
