Lower urinary tract dysfunction represents common problem affecting children of all age groups. Majority of problems is reflectoric in origin and brings only voiding difficulties together with the urinary tract infection. Neurogenic dysfunctions on the other side are serious and represent risk of the upper urinary tract deterioration, problems with incontinence, urinary tract infections and psychosocial complications. The first step in therapy represents in all afflicted children correction of drinking and voiding patterns together with improving of voiding habits followed by pharmacological treatment and autocatheterisation eventually. Surgical treatment is reserved for patients with complicated form of dysfunction, persistent incontinence and impairment of the upper urinary tract. Majority of ill children can be cured during the infancy.
