Summary

The organization of transplant medicine in the state based on the concept of rule of law is restricted by legal norms, preferably by the law. The nature of the law is based on the historical tradition of the population and respects its religious norms. These processes should be absolutely transparent. A positive attitude to media and strict compliance with the legislation represent the only way how to avoid speculations, scandals and doubts.

The aim of concealing the transplantation practice is to protect personal data. Even though the transplant laws in individual states differ they have one thing in common. Well designed law respecting tradition always increases the number of donors and thus improves the opportunity of recipients to obtain a suitable organ.

KEY WORDS:
transplant law, informed consent, „opting-out“ legislation, registry of persons refusing to donate their organs for transplantation, transplant centre, organ donor
