Summary
Multiple myeloma is one of the common hematological diseases and, in most cases, is manifested by the known CRAB criteria. One possible atypical manifestation of this disease may be severe mixed dyslipidemia, often in combination with hyperviscosity syndrome or cryoglobulinemia. Diagnosis of myeloma under these conditions is hampered by a number of specific problems. Our case report demonstrates a complicated journey from the patient’s symptoms to the definitive diagnosis and appropriately chosen treatment.
Keywords:
muscular dystrophy – hyperviscosity syndrome – plasmapheresis – cryoglobulinemia
