Summary
The aim of this article is to identify the complexity of care of PCP for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents and their capacity to facilitate a positive effect on individual‘s quality of life in terms of prevention, prophylaxis, early diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of registered patients. The main means of achieving this goal are effective communication, mutual trust and good collaboration between the PCP and the patient as well as among the whole multidisciplinary team. One element of PCP's work is presented and expanded in more detail in case studies of two patients that are failing to thrive.
