Typical symptoms – clear disease to think on: primary hyperparathyroidism

Summary

Primary hyperparathyroidism is a disease characterised by disorder of calcium-phosphate metabolism resulting from prolonged increased secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH). Hypercalcaemia is one of the most important laboratory findings that is manifested by a wide clinical symptomatology. This article presenting a case of primary hyperparathyroidism in a 24-year-old patient with typical symptoms missed by certain specialists. Presenting this case, it is being pointed out the complications of the late diagnosis, timely detection of the disease, right differential diagnosis and avoidance of invasive examinations of the patient.
