Summary

Based on research conducted in the Czech Republic and abroad on the subject of euthanasia and its support, the Dunning-Kruger effect theme and its influence on the level of support for euthanasia are interconnected and explained. Research suggests that people with less knowledge of euthanasia tend to support it more, the least support for euthanasia is among terminally ill patients. The way to reduce this uninformed support is the deeper education of the general population. It also points to specific problems in the interpretation of this phenomenon, where it is mistakenly concluded that euthanasia is widely promoted across the general and professional public.
