Summary
The depression disorder in senior aged patients is a serious disease, which on the one hand significantly worsens the overall prognosis of a patient, on the other hand it is a disease that we are usually able to treat well and successfully and thus significantly improve the quality of life of patients. The article focuses primarily on peculiarities of the clinical picture of the depression disorder in old age, the most important etiological factors and treatment principles. It is designed primarily for doctors no-psychiatrists who encounter the depressive patients in their clinical practice and also treat them.
