Summary
The a uthors report the case of a woman after orthotopic transplantati on of liver who got pregnant and gave birth two times. Both pregnanci es were terminated by cesare an secti on for obstetrical indicati on. Thanks to intensive monitoring during both pregnanci es in perinatology and transplantati onal centres, and also thanks to the use of modern immunosuppressants there was no graft failure so the mother and the foetuses were not jeopardised. There were no other complicati ons of pregnancy or delivery, such as hypertensi on, preeclampsi a, IUGR and preterm labo ur related to the liver transplant and the administrati on of the immunosuppressive agents.
