Summary

Numerous women experience sexual dysfunctions in life and, regrettably, the taboo on sexual problems concerning both the general public and medical workers still lasts. The sexual life disorders may of course very negatively affect the quality of life of a woman and her partner, and therefore it is necessary to give sufficient attention to this area already at the level of routine preventive gynaecological examinations. Disorders of sexual desire, arousal and orgasm are among the most frequent and a physician should be able to open the subject, recognize a disorder and if needed refer a patient to a specialist centre.
