Summary

Condylomata acuminata present a considerable epidemiological problem, particularly in a teenage population. The illness develops through the infection by a human papillomavirus- HPV. We are unable to treat the human papillomavirus, therefore the treatment of anogenital warts largely only consists in local destruction of warts and does not treat the cause of the illness. The removing of warts itself, in particular when the affected site is larger-sized, can be difficult and protracted, as well as subsequent healing of the patient, often complicated by recurrences. Any new preparation that broadens the possibilities of treatment of this obtrusive illness means a great benefit. In this regard the overall effect of the immunomodulation preparation Isoprinosine is a great hope for patients, mainly due to its systemic effect on all cutaneous and mucosal surfaces, its patient friendliness, but mainly due to its assumed ability to reduce the percent of recurrence. At the outpatients‘ department of oncogynecological prevention affiliated to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Ostrava City Hospital and its Laser centre, we followed the effect of the treatment with Isoprinosine in clinical practice and the results are very encouraging. Based on our observations we also try to provide guidance on how to use the medicine, on its dosing and length of application. For the sake of interest we present 1 case study with photo documentation, in which we have used Isoprinosine treatment with a very good effect.
