Summary
Osteoporosis, an accompanying problem of the postmenopausal period, needs to be rather considered as “perignosis“ and understood more broadly in relation to sarcopenia as a symptom of ageing of the organism. A new term “dysmobility syndrome“ attempts to reflect this factor. The main therapeutic measure, apart from supplementing vitamin D and administering osteoporotic preparations, must be the provision of appropriate and sufficient physical exercise.
Key words:
frailty syndrome – osteoporosis – physical activity – sarcopenia
