Summary
Chronic non-specific low back pain is multifactorial health condition with biological, psychological and social sources. Non-pharmacological treatment methods from range of rehabilitation, psychotherapy or alternative approaches such as tai-chi or yoga are now recommended in a first line. The aim of this article is to give a basic information about a current stay of research in yoga and chronic back pain. The first part cites the most recent review on this topic from the Cochrane database and some of the clinical trials. The second part introduces the potential mechanisms of yoga that influence this type of health condition. Based on the conducted researches yoga appears as an effective and safe non-pharmacological method in the therapy of chronic non-specific low back pain.
