Summary
Rapid fluctuations of blood glucose in DM type 1 require precise and user friendly devices for selfmonitoring. This paper describes principles and differences between continuous (CGM) and flash (FGM) glucose monitoring, particular advantages and disadvantages, including overview of published studies.
Keywords:
continuous glucose monitoring – CGM – flash glucose monitoring – FGM – type 1 diabetes mellitus – glycemic variability – hypoglycaemia
