Summary
The National Diabetology Registry provides accurate statistics of the main causes of death and the causes of hospitalisation in patients with diabetes mellitus. According to a recent data analysis, mortality in some groups of diabetic patients and mortality from vascular disease has been decreasing, while mortality from malignant disease has been increasing. These trends require establishing new priorities for Czech diabetology.
