Summary
Spa therapy of rheumatic diseases is one of the oldest therapeutic approaches to this group of diseases. Its use was based predominantly on empiric experience. Now the number of studies trying to prove objective therapeutic value of spa therapy is increasing. Although they do not comply always with the evidence based medicine their results contribute to the generally positive attitude to this form of therapy.
Key words:
spa therapy, balneotherapy, rheumatic diseases.
