Occupational rhinitis as an occupational disease in southern Moravia in the years 2003–2006

Summary
The author analyzed 86 cases of occupational rhinitis that had been diagnosed and confirmed as an occupational disease at the Occupational Medicine Clinic at St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno and at Masaryk University Hospital in Brno in the period stretching from 1/1/2003 to 31/12/2006. Of these, 59 were female (68.6 %) and 27 male (31.4 %). The average age (median) of the affected subjects at the time of confirmation of occupational disease was 39.5 years, the median exposure to the etiological noxious substance was 7 years. 46 probands (54 % of the sample) suffered concurrently from occupational asthma.
