Regulatory Network of Transcription Factors: Their Key Role in the Development and Function of Pancreas
Regulační síť transkripčních faktorů: klíčová role ve vývoji a funkci pankreatu
Molekulárně–biologické studie vývoje pankreatu přinesly nové poznatky o příčinách vzniku MODY a diabetes mellitus 2. typu. Identifikace transkripčních faktorů, které jsou součástí regulační sítě a spolupodílejí se na procesech vývoje a normální funkce dospělého exokrinního i endokrinního pankreatu, umožnila lepší porozumění genetického pozadí a následných fenotypových projevů diabetu.
Klíčová slova:
transkripční faktor, pankreas, mutace, polymorfizmus, MODY, diabetes mellitus 2. typu, inzulín.

Overview
Recent molecular biological studies of the pancreatic development have shed new light on the cause of MODY and diabetes mellitus type 2. The identification of transcription factors participating in the regulatory networks cooperating in the development and in adult exocrine and endocrine pancreas enabled the better understanding of the genetic background and subsequent phenotypic features of diabetes.
Key words:
transcription factor, pancreas, mutation, polymorphism, MODY, diabetes mellitus type 2, insulin.
