Summary
Planned parenthood is in developed countries considered as a fundamental human right. Every individual and couple have the right to freely decide on the number of their children, the date of birth of the first child and the interval between them. This right can be realized with sexual abstinence, taking contraception or undergo the abortion. Thus, the basic program and the policy of The World Health Organization is being practiced, where the population quality is prior to its quantity. To achieve this aim it is necesary that every child is wanted and its coming into the world is planned and waited with love. This article discusses changes in public attitudes to family planning methods. These changes are influenced by the progress of scientific knowledge in the field of modern contraception, legislation and also by religiosity of the population. Positive indicator tendency has been observed in Czech Republic with significant decrease in performance of induced abortions and increase number of realiable contraceptive methods users.
Key word:
artificial abortion – contraception – planned parenthood – population quality
