Summary
The aim of this article was to present the results of the pilot study, accomplished within the scope of graduation thesis that considered the influence of taping on muscle activity. Using the surface electromyography (EMG) m. biceps brachii during the isometric muscle contraction of the intensity of 30% MVC (Maximal Voluntary Contraction) in stages with and without tape applied by three different ways (with the different direction of draw) and two different materials (elastic and non-elastic) by five healthy subjects has been assessed. The results shows that during the application of the tape in the direction of the muscle fibres of underlying muscle, muscle activity of this muscle during isometric muscle contraction can be changed.
