Summary
Computing posturographic examination represents an objectification instrumental method for the analysis of postural control under static and dynamic conditions. The main contribution of this technology for rehabilitation of motoric disorders is the simulation of conditions of real gravitational environment by a standardized way. The dynamic posturography makes it possible to measure parameters of functional adaptation to disturbed conditions of postural control in a very detailed way. The clinical usefulness is not limited to actual results, but especially to analysis of individual strategy and trends of the proband in the process of functional adaptation.
The communication presents the methods, results and interpretation of dynamic posturography in model case reports of the patients who underwent lower extremity amputation and who were subject to posturographic examination in the course of individual phases of rehabilitation. The results make it clear that amputation of lower extremity leads to alteration of postural stabilization and functional preference of the saved lower extremity. The patients differ in the trends of functional adaptation. For prediction of the results of functional adaptation after amputation the length of the stump and the causes of amputation play significant roles. Other factors are of functional character and may be influenced by rehabilitation.
