Summary

The sports injuries are the most common cause of the damage of anterior cruciate ligament. The soft tissue injuries of the knee is clinically difficult to diagnose for swelling and pain in its entirety, therefore, magnetic resonance imaging is indicated. The authors describe in detail both physiological finding of the anterior cruciate ligament obtained by magnetic resonance imaging, as well as morphological and functional signs of the lesions of the anterior cruciate ligament. The paper describes the condition of the knee after the arthroscopic replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament, including possible complications. The paper also highlights the issue of clinical diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients, which is an essential part of post-operative therapy after the anterior cruciate ligament replacement.
