Summary

Cubital tunnel syndrome is the second most common entrapment neuropathy in the upper limb. The first surgical treatment was described in 1897 and, since that year, many studies comparing the different surgical methods have been published. Authors compare two surgical techniques at a retrospective cohort of patients operated on over the last five years. Group A consists of patients treated with simple decompression of the ulnar nerve, while in group B contains the patients who underwent modified anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve. Based on the results which correlate with studiespublished abroad, we recommend simple decompression as the first-choice surgical treatment option.

Key words:
cubital tunnel syndrome – surgery – simple decompression – anterior transposition
