Summary
Within a gro up of 28 pati ents with clinically manifested CNS affecti on, the concentrati on of S- 100 protein and ne uron specific enolasis in the serum and in the cerebrospinal fluid was monitored using commerci al sets. The concentrati ons of ne uron specific enolasis in the serum corresponded to normal serum values, in the cerebrospinal fluid a pathologically incre ased value was identifi ed only once. With the S- 100 protein, abnormally incre ased values were recorded three times in the serum while in the cerebrospinal fluid all the me asured values except for two were pathologically incre ased. The correlati on of levels of the examined ne uropeptides with the clinical conditi on of pati ents with nerve lesi on has not been proved.
