Summary

In the article, main characteristic of chronic liver cirrhosis are briefly described with a particular focus on ethylic aetiology. The case report presents a case of acute exacerbation of alcoholic liver cirrhosis well compensated during sobriety. A serious deterioration that lead in acute liver failure was caused by acute cytomegalovirus infection after a non-specific immunotherapy applied by a healer.
