Summary
The number of elderly patients in palliative care in the home is increasing. Palliation in the care of the elderly is specific e. g. there are more non-oncological diseases in the elderly, typical geriatric diseases (dementia) and worse prediction of life expectancy in the elderly. Palliative care in the home increases the quality of life of the terminal phase, treats bothering symptoms and makes end of life in the elderly possible in the home.
