Summary
In the context of the current Decade of Healthy Ageing, the World Health Organization has published important materials that introduce some new concepts in the care of older populations. The subject of this short communication is an introduction to some of the concepts related to healthy ageing and, in the light of our own research, a discussion on the use of already common ageing-related terms in professional and lay discussion.
